Using Templates

A template is a starting board, not a slide deck. Each of the 25 templates opens on your dashboard with timers already set and sample text ready to edit. Pick one, make it yours, and teach.

How to use a template

  1. Browse the 20 templates and pick the routine you need, for example Morning Routine, Quiz Time, or Exit Ticket.
  2. Press “Use this template”. It opens on the dashboard with the layout in place: the timer already set to a sensible length and sample text in the text boxes.
  3. Click any text and type your own agenda, prompt, or directions. Keep it to a few short lines so it reads from the back row.
  4. Add your class list: open the name picker and paste names one per line. Drag widgets to move them, and drag the corner of any widget to resize it.
  5. Press Save and give the board a clear name, such as “Period 3 Bell Ringer”. It is now your board, ready for tomorrow.

Make it yours

Templates are meant to be changed. Swap the sample text, set the timer to the length you actually use, remove widgets you do not need, and add ones you do. When a template fits your routine, save it under a clear name and share the link with your team: they get your adapted version. If you would rather build from scratch, start with an empty dashboard, arrange the widgets you like, and save that as your own personal template.

Frequently asked questions

Are templates free?

Yes. All 25 templates are free, just like every widget. Open one, change the text, and save the board in your browser.

Can I change the timer length in a template?

Yes. Every template comes with a sensible length already set, but the preset buttons on the timer let you change it in one click.

Will my changes to a template be saved?

Yes, once you press Save. Your edited version is stored in your browser under the name you give it. The original template on the templates page never changes.

Can I share a template I adapted?

Yes. Open your adapted board, press Share, and send the link. Your colleague gets your exact version with your text and settings.
