Student Names and Privacy

Student names you type into My Classroom Screen never leave your computer. There are no accounts, no servers receiving your data, and no tracking. Here is exactly how it works.

How your data is handled

  1. Everything runs in your browser. When you paste names into the name picker or type text into a widget, that information stays on your device.
  2. There are no accounts, so there is no database of your students anywhere. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers.
  3. Saved boards are stored in your browser’s local storage on your own computer, alongside the browser’s other site data.
  4. A share link contains only what you put into that one board: widget layout, positions, and the text you typed. It never includes your other saved boards.
  5. If you want names gone, clear the widget, delete the board, or clear the browser’s site data. Read the full Privacy Policy for the complete statement.

Sharing safely

Before you share a board link, glance at what is on it. If a widget still holds last period’s class list, clear it or swap in the new names first. Remember that anyone with the link sees exactly what is on the board, so treat a share link like a photocopy of your whiteboard.

Frequently asked questions

Do student names get sent to your servers?

No. Names, text, images, and settings are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to our servers.

Is there any student tracking or profiling?

No. We do not build profiles of students, we do not track individuals across visits, and we do not sell data.

What exactly is inside a share link?

Only the shared board: its widgets, their positions and sizes, and the text and settings you entered. Your other saved boards and anything else in your browser are not included.

How do I remove student names completely?

Clear the name picker or delete the board, then press Save. For a full wipe, clear the browser’s site data for this site, which removes all saved boards with it.

Teach with confidence
