Projector Setup

My Classroom Screen is built for the big screen: large text, large buttons, and a fullscreen mode that hides the browser. A two-minute setup gives you a board the back row can read.

Set up for projecting

  1. Open your board on the dashboard and arrange the widgets you need.
  2. Press the fullscreen button in the top bar. The browser toolbars disappear and the board fills the screen.
  3. Drag the corner of any widget to resize it. Make the timer and the name picker large enough to read from the back row.
  4. Pick a background that suits your room: open Settings and choose from six styles. In a bright room, the dark navy background gives the strongest contrast.
  5. If everything still looks small, zoom the browser: hold Ctrl and press the plus key (Cmd and plus on a Mac) until the text is comfortable. Zoom out the same way with the minus key.

Tips for bright classrooms

Sunlight washes out pale boards. Switch to the navy background, keep text widgets short, and prefer the traffic light and timer widgets for signals: their colors read well even in glare. If your projector has an eco or presentation mode, the brighter setting is worth the fan noise during class.

Frequently asked questions

How do I hide the browser toolbars?

Press the fullscreen button in the dashboard top bar. Press Escape to leave fullscreen and get the toolbars back.

The text is too small from the back row. What helps most?

Resize the widget by dragging its bottom-right corner, keep the text to a few short lines, and zoom the browser with Ctrl and plus (Cmd and plus on a Mac).

Which background works best in a bright room?

The dark navy background gives the strongest contrast in bright rooms. In a darkened room, the default dots or plain backgrounds look cleanest.

Does fullscreen work on an interactive whiteboard?

Yes. Fullscreen is a standard browser feature, so it works on projectors, smart TVs, and interactive whiteboards alike. Touch input keeps working on touch screens.
