Saving Your Boards

The Save button stores your board right in this browser, so tomorrow’s lesson is one click away. No account, no cloud, no waiting. Here is how saving works and how to keep your boards safe.

How to save a board

  1. Arrange your widgets on the dashboard: add a timer, the name picker, and anything else your lesson needs.
  2. Press the green Save button in the top bar.
  3. Give the board a clear name, for example “Period 3 Bell Ringer” or “Friday Quiz”. The name appears in the board title box at the top.
  4. Use the pager arrows next to the board name to move between your boards, or press the plus button to start a fresh one.
  5. Close the browser whenever you like. Next time you open the dashboard on this computer, your boards are still there.

Where your boards live

Boards are stored in your browser’s local storage on the device you used. That means a board saved on your classroom laptop will not appear on your home laptop by itself, and it will not follow you into a different browser.

If the browser’s site data is cleared, or you use a private or incognito window, saved boards are removed along with it. For anything important, use the Share button to copy a link to your board: the link rebuilds the exact layout on any computer, and it doubles as a backup. Read Sharing Boards With a Link for the full details.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to save boards?

No. Saving works with no account and no sign-in. Your boards are stored locally in the browser on the device you are using.

How many boards can I save?

You can keep multiple boards and flip between them with the pager in the top bar. Give each one a clear name, like “Period 1” and “Period 2”, so you always open the right one.

What happens if my browser data is cleared?

Saved boards live in the browser, so clearing site data removes them. Private or incognito windows also forget boards when closed. Keep a Share link for any board you cannot afford to lose.

Can I open my saved board on another computer?

Not automatically, because a saved board lives in one browser. Press Share on the first computer, copy the link, and open it on the second computer. The board rebuilds exactly, and you can press Save there too.
